An Apology for the Sunday, 3/17 “The Amazing Race” Episode

by JB Films

With such films as “Top Gun,” “Pearl Harbor,” and “Black Hawk Down,” as well as countless hours of episodic television, it has always been of utmost importance to Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Television to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have sacrificed so greatly–often with their lives–in defense of our freedoms.

There is no one we value and appreciate more than our servicemen and women, past and present, and their families. We deeply apologize for any offense given in the episode of “The Amazing Race” which aired on Sunday, March 17th.

The Lone Ranger Shoot Update – That’s (Almost) a Wrap!

by Jerry Bruckheimer Films

Almost done with filming of The Lone Ranger. 125 days of shooting seemed to fly by.  We dealt with winds up to 70 mph, rain, snow,  and even wildfires but nothing has stopped us from filming this incredible movie.

The cast has been absolutely amazing and we could not have asked for a better crew. Everyone has been extremely dedicated in making this film a major success. We have a few more filming days back in California and  then post-production goes into high gear. Before we know it, it will be July 3rd, 2013 and we can’t wait to share this incredible film with everyone.

Until then, here are a few photos of our time in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona:

Our custom built train tracks. We built 5 miles in a circle so we wouldn’t have to stop filming to turn train around

The Lone Ranger Shoot Update – And in Other News….

by Jerry Bruckheimer Films

Filming of The Lone Ranger has wrapped in Moab.  We shot some great action and train sequences in the middle of the desert. The location was at least an hour drive from any hotel or airport down a long, windy, bumpy dirt road. Cast and crew had to make the trek everyday, but the footage we got was well worth it.

Weather issues were at a minimum but we did run into a few 100+ degree days. Shade was hard to come by, as tweeted by Jerry Bruckheimer himself.

In other news:

Entertainment Weekly named The Ref (1994) as one of “The 50 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen.

Phil Koeghan, of The Amazing Race, was named the #3 best reality TV host by TV Guide.

As well, The Amazing Race has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards including Outstanding Reality–Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for Phil Keoghan. CSI: Miami has also been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series.

The Lone Ranger Rides into Monument Valley

by Jerry Bruckheimer Films

For a few weeks in April and May, we took filming of The Lone Ranger to Monument Valley, Utah. The cast and crew set out to the middle of the desert to get some great action for next summer’s blockbuster film starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.

The scenery in Monument Valley was absolutely breathtaking that Jerry Bruckheimer himself couldn’t help but send out a few tweets of his own showing the huge rocks, vast landscape, and even a couple behind the scenes shots.

CinemaCon 2012

by Jerry Bruckheimer Films

Executive producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, made an appearance last week at CinemaCon 2012 during Disney’s Exclusive Presentation Highlighting the Summer of 2012 and Beyond. He gave audiences a little more insight into The Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.

What to Expect

Story:

The Lone Ranger is one of the most iconic characters in the history of entertainment. The character’s black mask and white Stetson have become universal symbols of the fight for justice.

Today’s audiences are familiar with the characters, but over time, the origin story of the Lone Ranger/Tonto duo has been lost. This is where Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films come in. The story told will be that of how Tonto and The Lone Ranger came to be, but will be reinterpreted in a fresh way that will captivate modern audiences.

Action:

The movie is going to be told in the perspective of Tonto, played by Johnny Depp. Depp will bring his exceptional talent of creating characters into the film and will be sure to entertain every member of the audience. In addition, Director Gore Verbinski is among the best in the business in crafting action sequences. People’s expectations of a Western will be elevated to an entirely new level.

The Lone Ranger will hit theaters on May 31, 2013.
